The Next Symphony Night Premiere

Experience the next concert on the streaming platform Symphony.live on Saturday, 15 April 2023 from 8 pm on.

The programme of the Symphony Night Premiere includes Erkki-Sven Tüür's «Lux Stellarum», a concerto for flute and orchestra, which was given its Swiss premiere by our focus artist Emmanuel Pahud. The NZZ wrote about the concert at the end of January: «It is breathtaking how Pahud, with his outstanding technique, succeeds seemingly effortlessly, for example, in creating the difficult ‹multiphonics›, i.e. overtone-rich multiple sounds, and mixing them with shimmering tone sequences and virtuoso glissando effects».

You can also experience Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's «Lobgesang» with sopranos Chen Reiss and Marie Henriette Reinhold, tenor Patrick Grahl and the Zurich Sing-Akademie. «In the Zurich performance, which forms the capstone in Paavo Järvi's Mendelssohn cycle with the Tonhalle-Orchester, the fabulous Zurich Sing-Akademie (rehearsal: Florian Helgath) unfolds an overwhelming splendour here as well as especially at the end,» says the NZZ in its review.

It would be great if you could become part of the Symphony Orchestra world.
