Concert recording: Tüür's «Lux Stellarum»

The flautist Emmanuel Pahud takes on the solo part in this work.

Erkki-Sven Tüür's "Lux Stellarum" is a concerto for flute and orchestra, which our focus artist Emmanuel Pahud performed for the first time in Switzerland. The NZZ wrote about the concerto at the time: "The way in which Pahud, with his outstanding technique, succeeds seemingly effortlessly in producing, for example, the difficult 'multiphonics', i.e. multiple sounds rich in overtones, and mixing them with shimmering tone sequences and virtuoso glissando effects, is breathtaking".
