Paavo Järvi has been our music director since the 2019/20 season. In the 2023/24 season he will continue the Bruckner cycle – with Symphony No. 9, which will also be recorded on CD. In February, he will open a new major Mahler cycle, which will also be recorded and will keep him and the orchestra busy for the next few years. He loves many composers, says Paavo Järvi, "but I know of no one who had such a rich inner life as Mahler and was able to translate that into music so fantastically".
