Sound without a hall
Classical music for everyone is the name of the game at Münsterhof Zurich in mid-June. Together with various partners, we celebrate a festival of music - every two years in future.
"Making music with the orchestra and our partners in the open air is a great privilege. It is the most powerful and direct way to be in dialogue with the people of the city," says Paavo Järvi, who will conduct two concerts at tonhalleAIR. He will also be conducting the Zurich Youth Symphony Orchestra for the first time. Our musicians from the orchestra have been working very closely with the young orchestra for years and passing on their knowledge.
Another cooperation that we have maintained for years is with Superar Suisse, the support programme for children and young people from a wide range of social backgrounds. Together with schools in the city and canton of Zurich, we are finally organising an outdoor sing-along. Classic meets you With the Zurich Jazz Orchestra, the brass sections of our orchestra will give two concerts during the day on Saturday, providing great entertainment for all strollers in the city.
The urban festival site invites you to linger - many catering establishments will be open before and after the concerts.
Access to the Münsterhof is free of charge on both days. As hosts and with the financial support of the Canton of Zurich and various foundations and partners, we make culture and see tonhalleAIR as a new highlight on Zurich's agenda.
