Review of the klubZ experience

klubZ end of season review

The concert and subsequent closing party in the Rimini Bar passed as quickly as the 2023/24 season came to an end.

The evening began with Dessner's Violin Concerto, played by the charismatic Finnish violinist Pekka Kuusisto, who composed the concerto for our Creative Chair - as the NZZ also wrote. And rightly so, because Pekka Kuusisto showed us in every respect how promising new music is with his easy-going manner and brilliant skills.

After the interval, the stage belonged to Joana Mallwitz, who performed Mahler's Symphony No. 1 to a standing ovation. With her debut at the Tonhalle Zurich, she impressively demonstrated that we can continue to look forward to female conductors in the future.

After the concert, klubZ moved on to the Rimini Bar with Pekka Kuusisto and some musicians from the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich. There they toasted to an eventful season with pizza, antipasti and drinks. There was laughter and partying into the night to bid farewell to the old season.

What we can say at the end: We are looking forward to the new season!
