Music Director Paavo Järvi has selected six candidates from 150 applicants who will spend four days in May with him, the orchestra and the Management Team to further develop their technical skills.

Finally, in the closing concert, they demonstrate what they have learned from Paavo Järvi. The excitement is not over: the conducting courses and the closing concert are broadcast simultaneously on the social media channels and website of the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich.

And in the end, it is the whole wide world that chooses the winner of the Academy. Because you, dear audience, can vote directly after the closing concert on which young conductor has convinced you the most.
