BEETHOVEN // OPUS 360: A Day with Beethoven

On 16 September, everything revolves around Beethoven and the award-winning virtual reality game BEETHOVEN // OPUS 360 which brings the young Beethoven into our time. Chamber music by Beethoven and rap and a supporting programme will offer even more exciting information about the composer and his life.

As soon as you put on the VR glasses, you land in a rap battle. In the middle of it all is Beethoven, who has to prove himself against an experienced battle rapper. Now it's all up to you: You act as Beethoven's coach by actively intervening in the action, determining various beats, rap lines and much more, and thus winning over the virtual audience together with Beethoven. In the process, you will immerse yourself in an interactive world and get to know a Beethoven who is so completely different than you ever thought.

BEETHOVEN // OPUS 360 is a VR game that combines a strong story with humorous language and fast gameplay. You can try out the game yourself on 16 September from 10 am to 4 pm. Just drop by spontaneously. Some time slots are already fully booked, but we have reserved a few glasses for the spontaneous among you. The game is recommended for ages twelve and up. The day around BEETHOVEN // OPUS 360 is free of charge.

nextstop:classic is a group of young people and alumni of our project Schülermanager*innen. Anna, Pia, Tamara and Mika are part of nextstop:classic and have come up with all kinds of two-dimensional things around the virtual reality game BEETHOVEN // OPUS 360 to bring you even closer to Beethoven: They are bringing the battle rapper Sizyphos aka Tristan Steeg from BEETHOVEN // OPUS 360 into our concert foyer. Together with the Loewe Quartet - consisting of musicians from the Zurich University of the Arts – he will perform his skills live. The four from nextstop:classic also interview Arthur and Victor Abs. In 2018, the two German brothers, then aged 20 and 16, developed the project idea for BEETHOVEN // OPUS 360 with the aim of getting their peers interested in cultural topics and especially in Beethoven by means of a VR game. While you enjoy your drink, they talk in an interview about their journey and what the German Computer Game Award in the category Innovation and Technology, which they won in spring for BEETHOVEN // OPUS 360, means to them.
