Shostakovich Cycle

We are celebrating the start of the Shostakovich Year 2025 with a cycle of his string quartets.

Dmitri Shostakovich (1906-1975) is one of the most important composers of the 20th century – and at the same time one whose musical questioning is incredibly contemporary. We are taking the Shostakovich Year 50 years after the composer's death as an opportunity for a Shostakovich cycle over two seasons with all of his string quartets.

In January 2025, the Jerusalem Quartet will perform String Quartets Nos. 1 to 9 in three concerts.
In the 2025/26 season, we will complete the cycle with String Quartets Nos. 10 to 15. The Jerusalem Quartet will also be playing. Make a note of the dates for the sequel now: Fri 29 / Sat 30 Nov 2025.
