Zoltán Kodály «Tänze aus Galánta»
The Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich not only hosts tonhalleAIR, it also performs a large orchestral concert in the Münsterhof.
The programme includes three works to revel in, marvel at and dance to: Aram Khachaturian's piano concerto features everything from Armenian melodies and virtuoso effects to a singing saw - everything this composer had to offer in terms of sparkling ideas. Bizet's "Carmen" suite combines some of the most famous melodies in music history. And Kodály's "Dances from Galanta", inspired by Hungarian folk music, provides a brilliant finale.
And the encore? That was decided by our followers on Instagram by vote. They chose the ‘Hungarian Dance’ No. 5 by Brahms!
