How does an orchestra react to new conductors?

Please allow sufficient time for the journey, as the Bahnhofstrasse/HB, Rennweg and Kantonalbank stops will not be served as the Christmas lights in Zurich city centre will be switched on.

Two great opera singers meet in this programme: Diana Damrau sings songs by Henri Duparc - and Nathalie Stutzmann, who once caused a sensation as a contralto, conducts. Even as a teenager, the Frenchwoman dreamed of conducting and studied it; for some years now, this dream has been coming true at prestigious addresses. In her debut with our orchestra, Nathalie Stutzmann indulges her love of the romantic repertoire with Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5. And with Wagner's "Tannhäuser" overture, she brings a little opera into the concert hall after all.
