We are making progress with our Mahler cycle: the recordings of Symphonies Nos. 1, 5 and 7 have already been released on the Alpha label, Symphony No. 2 and the Adagio of the unfinished No. 10 have also been recorded - now Paavo Järvi and the orchestra are taking on Mahler's Symphony No. 6. "No work flowed so directly from his heart," said Alma Mahler, the composer's wife. The symphony, also known as "The Tragic", was "his most personal".
