Igor Levit has played Beethoven's piano sonatas many times - individually, in groups or as a complete cycle. But how freshly he thinks about them each time, experiencing and shaping them from the moment: This can be heard in every one of his concerts. "I know what my day was like," he once said in an interview shortly before a Beethoven performance, "I know what's going on in my head, how I'm feeling. I don't know what will happen in the concert." In the first of his two recitals in the Beethoven Year 2027, he takes on four sonatas, early and later, famous and lesser-known - to rediscover them together with the audience.
