Solo cellist Anita Leuzinger and pianist Hendrik Heilmann regularly perform together in the orchestra - but this is their first chamber music programme together. They have fulfilled a few very different wishes: Hendrik Heilmann wanted to play the Beethoven Sonata, with which the then 27-year-old composer heralded the heyday of cello sonatas; Anita Leuzinger wanted to finally play the ambiguous, idyllic and menacing Prokofiev Sonata, which contains some of the most beautiful cello melodies ever. And then there is "Efeu" by Swiss cellist Thomas Demenga, with whom she once studied: A shimmering, colourful solo piece in which you can experience, among other things, how you can elicit almost bell-like sounds from the cello with the help of a paper clip.
